Miyama’s thatched village is a place where traditional Japanese rural landscape still remains, the houses feature a thatched roof made of dry vegetation.
The famous Shirakawa-go “Gassho” houses in Gifu Prefecture also features the same roof.

To visit Miyama, you can ride a train and transfer by bus, or maybe you’ll need to bring your car. But during the “Yuki Toro” event, a direct bus can take you to the location.
